That announcement says one thing to me: Jacobs got canned, probably due to the failure of WAR. Now EA has put the only people in their stable with an unbeaten string of RPG wins in charge of the whole show.
It remains to be seen if BioWare can actually create/manage an MMO, and if Ray is actually up to the task of pulling together multiple teams with vastly different corporate cultures.
It'll be interesting to see if BioWare and their founders are up to the task.
